Introducing Cloud Destinations

Today, we're introducing a major feature we've been working on at Evefan over the last few weeks.

When we started sharing Evefan with industry friends and internally within the YC community at the beginning of the month, the first thing that prevented people from starting to migrate workloads was the lack of integrations.

Evefan's primary innovation is that all of the event data is captured, ingested, transformed, and delivered straight from your edge-hosted Cloudflare worker to your destination.

This is only possible at scale because Cloudflare runs a custom JS runtime and not entire NodeJS. This means that for us to add a destination we cannot simply import their SDK, we have to at times POST directly to it via HTTP.

This left us in a bind. How do we move quickly and deliver all the integrations that our customers need while maintaining the key benefits of our workers?

Our answer to this is Cloud Destinations:

Cloud destinations enable you to send events to your favorite apps to keep them in sync.

They are routed from the worker to our console and sent to your configured destinations. In our backend, we can quickly add support for these by using their official SDKs — something that we can't easily do in the worker environment.

We can then use the demand data to determine which of these we want to invest the time in building native integrations.

In this first batch of cloud destinations, we prioritized other integration hubs to give your Evefan instance the most leverage to maintain existing workflows. These include:

➡️ Segment
➡️ Rudderstack
➡️ Jitsu
➡️ Zapier
➡️ Webhooks

We have also added support for the top Analytics systems.

⭐️ Google Analytics
⭐️ Posthog
⭐️ Intercom
⭐️ Amplitude

Cloud destinations require a paid Evefan-managed Console account.

In the next few weeks, we will ensure that the vast majority of event-ingesting SaaS apps are supported while we continue to make progress on enhancing our native open-source ingestion engine!

Congratulations to the rockstar team, which did this in record time in response to customer demand! 🫡

SaaS Apps, Assemble!!! ✊
